Call for Artists For the Mount Holly Art and Music Festival
The Juried Festival includes only original arts and fine crafts created by the artist and crafts people from the region to showcase and sell their creative works in our Revitalized Mount Holly downtown, while giving residents and visitors a chance to enhance their lives through the arts. Juried artists will be designated with an “Artist of the Festival” Ribbon as well as being eligible to be selected for the “Juror’s Choice” and “Viewer’s Choice” awards.
This year, we will also have a craft section for individuals that are not eligible for the Juried section but still has great items that festival attendees will enjoy.

Opening this week at LTG!
Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot
Thursday, June 26 - 7pm
Friday, June 27 - 7pm
Saturday, June 28 - 2pm & 7pm
Sunday, June 29 - 2pm
Based on the universally popular poetry of T.S. Eliot, CATS tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. Filled with captivating characters, thrilling and enthralling music, and stunning moments throughout — altogether on one stage. A true musical theatre phenomenon, CATS opened at London’s New London Theatre on May 11, 1981 and ran for a record-setting 21 years. CATS’ London success was nearly matched on Broadway where it ran at the Wintergarden Theatre for just over 18 years.
CATS is presented by the 2014 LTG Youth Guild, featuring some of this region’s most gifted and talented high school and college students. Prepare for some jaw-dropping moments, and expect to be gob-smacked (as the Brits say) at the level of talent from this group!
Running time: 2 hours, with 15-minute intermission
All seats are $10, General Admission.
LTG is 100% volunteer-run, and our dedicated volunteers are eager to help you. LTG’s Box Office is accepting reservations for CATS via email or phone - 704-865-0160. Get ready for a unique swashbuckling musical journey! The wit and whimsy of Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic score is suffused with a modern sensibility in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, JR., a hilarious musical farce that centers on a host of colorful characters – including sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty. Set on the rocky coast of Cornwall, England, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, JR. begins with a group of pirates who are celebrating the birthday of one of their own, Frederic, who has reached his twenty-first year. Finally having served the full length of his required time with the pirates, he decides to strike off on his own and become an upstanding citizen – which may even mean bringing the pirates to justice. This turns out to be a tricky prospect indeed, especially when Frederic’s freedom is called into question!
Join the 2014 Summer Youth Workshop participants in the culmination of 4 weeks of hard work, in a thrilling, professional-level production, with an incredibly talented group of young people.
Running time: 80 minutes, without intermission
Advanced tickets and additional information for THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, JR. are now available via CarolinaTix.org or 704-372-1000, and will also be available at the door, up to 30 minutes prior to the start of each performance. Reservations can also be made through LTG (email or phone) beginning Monday, July 28th.
All seats are $10, General Admission.
